  1. Das “soziale Technologien nutzende” Unternehmen
  2. Das “soziale Technologien integrierte” Unternehmen
  3. Das “partizipative” Unternehmen
  4. Das “sich öffnende” Unternehmen
  5. Das “vernetzte” Unternehmen in einer vernetzten Gesellschaft

Welche Stufen hat Ihr Unternehmen bereits genommen?

    Hi Frank,

Nice to read your post. I have recently constructed the E-Business Maturity Model and conducted a benchmark in the Netherlands (currently running in France).

As a spin-off I have been working on an enterprise social media maturity model. Although my ambition was to follow the standard stages of growth of the CMMi, I found (based on interviews) that the different stages are difficult to seperate. Instead, I have chosen to take 3 fases into account: pioneering, facilitating and strategic.

As you, I see 4 dimensions with in total 12 categories which impact social media maturity: user/employee, business, organization and tooling. English version and presentation on: http://www.e-business-benchmark.com/blog/enterprise-social-media-maturity-model-esm3.

    Hi Gijsbert,
I also started with the CMMI model, but the only thing I kept were the number of stages of maturity (5). I think that some of your dimensions (technology, business) map very good to the dimensions I use (and vice versa), sometimes you have a subdimension (culture) which I consider to be a main category. Overall I think we agree in the main parts of our models. What I like in particular with your model is the social/employee perspective - I think it makes sense to describe and understand the impact of social media on individual, group and organizational level. I think that the strategic usage of social media (or software) will transform enterprises towards an “open” or “connected” enterprise as characterized by maturity level 4 and 5 in my model.
